| Prussia Cove A most unusual name for a small village in West Cornwall, but one that reflects the heritage and mythology of the region. Prussia Cove is actually named after its former owner; a local smuggler named John Carter. He was so enamoured with The King of Prussia that he named the cove after him. Today there are three little coves coming under the one name; Piskies Cove, Bessies Cove and King Cove. It is a very pretty little village with several quaint cottages dotted throughout and is noted for its summer music festivals. If it’s peace and rural tranquility that you seek, Prussia Cove is just about ideal. St Hilary St Hilary is an idyllic rural retreat. A truly beautiful village with an outstanding decorated church, it’s situated at the very heart of the Mounts Bay area, just a couple of miles from the closest of many lovely beaches, some incorporating vast swathes of golden sand, others quaint fishing coves with their secret history of smuggling. St Hilary is just 3 miles from St Michael’s Mount at Marazion. It’s the perfect base for a family or walking holiday with its excellent access to moorland and coastal walks on the Lizard and Land’s End peninsulas. Local attractions are easily accessible and include the plethora of ancient archeological sites and a wide selection of beautiful gardens. |
